So I finally stumbled upon Redbox DVD rental locations and website, and I must say, what an awesome idea. Now when I want to grab a movie real quick, just run up to the box, pick my movie, swipe my credit card and retrieve the DVD. I don't have to worry about searching a movie store, dealing with grumpy employees or waiting for my mail order DVD subscription service.
Now you do need a credit card to rent the movies, but let's face it, nearly all of us have one anyways. If you enter you email when you rent a movie, they will mail you rental and return receipts as well as free DVD rental promotional codes. You can enter these codes at the main menu and rent DVDs for free. I have heard that you can also enter your cell phone number on their website and every Monday they will text you a free DVD rental code.
Keep in mind that the $1 dollar rental fee is for one day. The DVD must be returned prior to 9pm the next day, or you will be charged another $1. Lost DVDs will cost you $25.00 + tax. Like they say on their FAQ page, "we're all adults here!"
